Ce film témoigne des six fêtes ayant eu lieu dans une rue bruxelloise entre 2001 et 2009. Depuis 2001 les habitants organisent une fête dans la rue Locquenghien, située au centre de Bruxelles, près du canal. Par cette fête ils veulent briser l’anonymat de la ville, faire la connaissance des voisins et s’approprier l’espace public. Le film retrace les préparatifs et les activités diverses autour de la fête.

Deze film getuigt van zes straatfeesten die plaatsvonden in een Brusselse straat tussen 2001 en 2009. Sinds 2001 organiseren de bewoners van de Locquenghienstraat een feest in hun straat, gelegen in het centrum van Brussel, dichtbij het kanaal. Met dit feest willen de bewoners de anonimiteit van de stad doorbreken, elkaar beter leren kennen en zich de openbare ruimte toe-eigenen. De film geeft een beeld van de voorbereidingen en diverse activiteiten tijdens het feest.

Filmed on location between 2001 and 2009, during the yearly party organised by the inhabitants of the Locquenghienstreet. A group of inhabitants decide to organise a party in their street which is located in the centre of Brussels. With this party they want to break the anonymity of the city, to get to know their neighbours and to appropriate public space.
